Privacy and Terms of Service

MailBridge is a service that allows developers to send transactional emails using their own Gmail account via a secure API. We attach great importance to transparency, security, and respect for privacy.

1. Service Presentation

MailBridge is a technical gateway that allowed sending emails via the user's Gmail account. The service operates through a secure authorization provided by Google.

MailBridge is not an independent messaging service and does not replace Gmail. Emails are sent directly via the user's Gmail infrastructure.

2. Google Account Access

MailBridge uses the secure OAuth authentication system provided by Google. The requested access is strictly limited to sending emails.

MailBridge does not have access to your inbox, received emails, contacts, or any other Gmail data.

The user can revoke this access at any time from their Google account settings.

3. Data Collected

In order to provide the service, MailBridge only collects information necessary for its operation, including:

  • the email address associated with the Google account
  • a technical identifier provided by Google during authentication
  • technical metadata related to email sending (date, status, number of recipients, message type)

MailBridge does not collect the content of emails, does not store sent messages, does not keep attachments, and never accesses received emails.

4. Use of Data

The collected data is used uniquely to:

  • authenticate the user
  • allow sending emails via the API
  • display a technical history of sent emails
  • detect abusive or abnormal usage
  • improve the reliability and security of the service

Data is never used for advertising purposes and is not resold.

5. Sending History

MailBridge maintains a limited history in the form of technical metadata. This history allows the user to consult the status of sent emails and diagnose potential problems.

The content of emails is never stored. Users can consult sent emails directly in their Gmail inbox.

6. Data Retention

Sending metadata is kept for a limited duration. This duration may depend on the level of service usage.

Data is automatically deleted after expiration or immediately upon account deletion.

7. User Control

The user retains total control over their account and permissions. They can at any time:

  • revoke Google access from their account
  • stop using the service
  • delete their MailBridge account

Revoking Google access immediately prevents any new sending via MailBridge.

8. Data Sharing

MailBridge does not sell, rent, or share any personal data with third parties.

Information may be disclosed only if required by law or to comply with legal obligations.

9. Security

MailBridge applies reasonable measures to protect data and access, including the use of secure connections and data minimization principles.

The service is designed to minimize the stored information as much as possible.

10. User Responsibility

The user is responsible for their use of the service and the content of emails sent via MailBridge. They agree to respect current laws as well as the rules applicable to Google services, notably regarding spam, fraud, harassment, or illegal content.

MailBridge does not control email content and cannot be held responsible for messages sent by users.

11. Prohibited Uses

It is prohibited to use MailBridge to:

  • send spam or unsolicited emails
  • conduct fraudulent or deceptive activities
  • distribute illegal or malicious content
  • harass or harm third parties
  • bypass Google or email provider rules

MailBridge reserves the right to suspend or block access in case of abuse or violation of these rules.

12. Service Availability

MailBridge is provided as is, without warranty of continuous availability or email deliverability.

The service may evolve, be modified, or interrupted at any time to improve its reliability or security.

13. Suspension or Termination

MailBridge may suspend or terminate access to the service in case of abusive use, violation of these terms, or for security reasons.

The user can stop using the service at any time by revoking Google access or deleting their account.

14. Evolution of Service and Terms

The service may evolve over time. These terms may be updated to reflect technical, legal, or functional changes.

In case of significant modification, users will be informed by appropriate means.

15. International Users

MailBridge can be used from different countries. By using the service, the user accepts that their data may be processed in jurisdictions different from their country of residence.
